As the temperature starts to drop it’s a chance to tuck into savoury reds that suit all the seasonal flavours from squash, root vegetables, mushrooms and game et al, think Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo, Syrah to Montepulciano, Sangiovese & lots of Pinot! For whites seek out ones that are a bit more cosy, with a bit more texture from varietals that offer a bit more body, some displaying nice green orchard fruits to go with the season. Think Vermentino, Trebbiano, Chenin Blanc, Savagnin, Viognier & of course Chardonnay.
