Fabien Duveau, Les Menais, Saumur Champigny x2
From vines grown on a combination of clay and limestone soils in the village of Verrains. Vinified with indigenous yeast, exclusively in concrete vat. Violets on the nose, bright red fruits with a slight herbaceous edge. A soft and refreshing red. Lovely example of crunchy Cabernet Franc from Saumur Champigny.
Sylvain Bailly, Terroirs Blanc, Sancerre x2
Sylvain’s granddaughter, Sonia Bailly, joined her father Jacques in 2007 in making the wine. They now work together along with Sonia’s husband Matthieu to produce wine with the renowned beautiful texture of Bué but also with a stunning precision and fruit. Most of Sonia’s vines are situated in Bué but they also extend into the villages of Sancerre, Amigny, Crézancy and Montigny. Beautifully balanced Sancerre with citrus, grapefruit, grassy notes and minerality.
Domaine de Rimauresque, Cru Classé Rosé, Cotes de Provence x2
Delicate pale onion skin in colour with strawberry fruit aromas and an appealing herb-spiked nose. The delicate palate is pretty with red fruit and roship characters backed by gentle acidity. The finish is long and complex and with just a touch of aeration really shows its class.
