Artisan Vignerons de Naoussa, Xinomavro, Naoussa

Xinomavro roughly translates as ‘sour black’ and the grape is known for its dark colour, high acidity and big tannins, often labelled as the Barolo of Greece for those reasons along with its fragrant nose. This example by the Artisans Vignerons de Naoussa cooperative from their younger vines has dark fruit, prunes and plums with a herbaceous note and a refreshing acidity with rounded well-structured tannins.

Bodega Garzon, Tannat Reserve, Maldonado

Reserve shows black plum, juicy blackberry, and a hint of spices on the nose. The palate is full-bodied with an elegant structure which is complimented by ripe tannins and a balanced acidity.

Rippa Dorii, Roble, Ribera del Duero

Aromatically this has a really inviting and vibrant fresh fruit expression of dark cherries, red plums, baking spices, with gently floral notes. The palate focuses on fruit but with enough tannin to give structure, a good length finish, and gentle oaky notes.

Lyrarakis Assyrtiko Voila 2024, Crete

Assyrtiko Voila has complex aromas of citrus and white fleshed aromatic fruit, spicy notes and long fresh mineral finish. A great example of Greece's most important native white varietals.

Gradis Ciutta, Friulano 2024, Collio

Delicate nose of exotic fruits, with almond and honeysuckle characters. Notes of ripe apricot and peach on the palate, long and savoury with a lightly bitter twist on the finish.

Merayo, Godello 2024, Bierzo

Intense nose of green apple and stone fruit and traces of citrus and fennel. Mineral sensations envelop the wine and lend it great complexity. The palate is rounded and bulky, without ever losing the sensation of freshness.
