The main body of the vineyards are located below Olevano Romano downtown (in the South of Rome) and sheltered by hills on three sides, facing West towards the sea and a salutary seaward wind that blows inland each day, drying the soil. The Ciolli family own the 5 hectares vineyards since at least 4 generations. Indeed, long before Damiano, his grandfather, then his father used to sell the ensuing wine in bulk to the capital. When he took charge of the winery in 2001, Damiano straightaway focused on quality, persuaded, as he was that the Cesanese variety could yield very fine wines.
