Xinomavro roughly translates as ‘sour black’ and the grape is known for its dark colour, high acidity and big tannins, often labelled as the Barolo of Greece for those reasons along with its fragrant nose. This example by the Artisans Vignerons de Naoussa cooperative from their younger vines has dark fruit, a herbacious note and a refreshing acidity with rounded well-structured tannins.
