Jean-Charles Fagot, Les Champs l’Hullier 2024, Burgundy
4 in stock
Grown just south of Puligny-Montrachet in the village of Corpeau, Champs L’Huillier is a single-vineyard Bourgogne Blanc rooted in clay-rich soils over a deep calcareous base. This terroir, lying on the lower slopes of the Côte de Beaune, brings both texture and freshness to the wine. The 2023 vintage was marked by a healthy, balanced growing season, delivering fruit of excellent ripeness with bright natural acidity. Vinification is traditional and low-intervention. The grapes are gently pressed and undergo fermentation in a mix of stainless steel and used oak barrels to preserve fruit purity while adding gentle complexity. The wine rests on its fine lees for several months, enhancing mouthfeel and aromatic depth without overt oak influence. No bâtonnage is used, allowing the terroir to speak clearly. The result is a finely balanced white Burgundy with aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and a touch of flinty minerality. The palate is supple and fresh, with clean acidity and a long, precise finish.
