This domaine is truly a gem in the northern Rhône, demonstrating typicity, or rather ‘soil to glass transfer’ as described by John Livingstone-Learmonth. His Granit 30 and Granit 60 are both exceptional and highlight the elegance of his wines, the former being sourced from younger vines of around 10 years and the latter coming from three different plots of older vines of between 30-100 year-old vines. It shows pure notes of cracked pepper, blueberries and raspberries. It perfectly captures the ripe essence of Syrah, then adds a firm grounding of crushed stone and firm tannins on the finish.
