Motte’s wine has real finesse with good fruit character – very much their house style. Cool-fermented in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation is also in stainless steel and the wine is unoaked.

Fairly restrained on the nose, savoury herbs, citrus alongside minerality in the palate. This Petit Chablis is a light fruity wine that marries perfectly with oysters and all shellfish

Sylvain Bailly, Sancerre, Loire x1

Sylvain’s granddaughter, Sonia Bailly, joined her father Jacques in 2007 in making the wine. They now work together along with Sonia’s husband Matthieu to produce wine with the renowned beautiful texture of Bué but also with a stunning precision and fruit. Most of Sonia’s vines are situated in Bué but they also extend into the villages of Sancerre, Amigny, Crézancy and Montigny.

Argiano, Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany x1

Argiano’s history dates back to 1580, when the Pecci family of Siena began the construction of a magnificent villa, complete with vast cellars. 

Made from 100 percent Sangiovese, the Rosso di Montalcino is the more forward drinking alternative to their Brunello di Montalcino and enjoys the same noble pedigree. All the hallmarks of top-quality Sangiovese are here, from the vibrant wild cherries to the fragrant violet note and a delicate touch of mint and earth. The tannins are smooth, and the finish lingers.
