La Voûte is made by Thierry Delaunay and comes from a relatively new appellation called Touraine Chenonceaux, which was created in 2011 after 20 years in the making. Chenonceaux is known for the majestic Château de Chenonceau, which features on the La Voûte label and spans the river Cher. The wines under Touraine Chenonceaux are from selected parcels of vines on clay-flint soils and prehistoric sandy and calcareous soils located in Touraine. The wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc and may not be sold until 1st May following the vintage, spending around seven months on its lees to add weight, texture and complexity.
The La Voûte Touraine Chenonceaux has excellent concentration with red apple aromas enhanced by notes of white flowers and a hint of beeswax on the nose. It is dry with refreshing acidity and is a wine that can be left to age in the bottle for a couple of years.
